Brian started life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before settling in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. There, he spent the next 21 years enjoying everything the beautiful Rocky Mountains had to offer. From skiing and rock climbing to downhill mountain biking, white water rafting, and everything in between, you could surely find him outside enjoying the sunshine and searching for the next big adventure.
His love for boating began at an early age on the beautiful waters of Waupaca “Chain O’ Lakes,” Wisconsin. Here, he spent his summers on his grandparents’ 1960 Chris Craft ski boat and pontoon, learning to fish, waterski, and navigate the peaceful waters of their lakefront home. His grandfather was a Naval Architect who exuded a knowledge and passion for boating that rubbed off on him.
Colorado, being such a landlocked state, made pursuing his love for the water challenging, and annual trips to Wisconsin weren’t enough to scratch that boating itch. As he dreamed of breaking away from the land around him and getting closer to the water, he needed to find something to supplement his desires, which came in the form of cars and motorcycles.
From the time he could walk, he raced motorcross, and after he started driving, his two-wheel hobby turned to four. He began attending drifting and time attack events from coast to coast. His talents behind the wheel did not go unnoticed, and he quickly attained his SCCA and Pro Drift licenses. When he wasn’t racing, he was wrenching. In his free time, he built custom motorcycles and restored vintage cars. That interest and growing mechanical knowledge led to the start of his successful 7-year career at one of the largest dealership chains in the country. As the OEM dealer for 17 different brands of motorcycles, SXS, PWCs, and ATVs, 11 major car manufacturers, and hundreds of parts and retail vendors, his exposure to such a wide range of products, as well as experience in every facet of dealership operations catapulted him forward as a leading expert in the field.
He began attending Colorado State University–Pueblo while continuing his career in the motorcycle industry. The opportunity finally came to get on the water and get his foot in the door in the world of yachting. He moved to Bradenton, Florida, and began an internship with Coastal Yacht Services and Coastal Yacht Maintenance, where he serviced hundreds of vessels from various manufacturers ranging from 15’-150’ in length. During this time, he gained a wealth of knowledge of the yacht industry and fell in love with the outstanding build quality, and design of Marlow Yachts. He knew this was where he wanted to be, but the time had come to return to Colorado and finish his education. He attained a Bachelor of Science in Automotive Industry Management with a double major in Business Administration. He also received a minor in Supervisory Management and his ASE master technician credentials.
After graduation, his advanced technical knowledge and business acumen landed him a position as a Service Manager for the largest Honda dealership in the state. In his first 3 months there, he broke the all-time record for sales and hours of service in a month, making him the top-performing associate in the company’s 76-year history. However, he still had the dream of getting on the water looming in the back of his mind. When the opportunity to join the Marlow Family presented itself, he immediately jumped on it.
